May 3, 2024 — Work will commence next week (May 6 to 10) on redevelopment of the Tecumseh Park Ball Diamond.

Ball diamond redevelopment comes as the City continues a multi-year effort to revitalize Tecumseh Park. The ball diamond project will include:

  • New diamond backstop and fencing
  • New LED field lighting system
  • Drainage and irrigation improvements
  • Sodding
  • Clay diamond surfaces

To facilitate the project the southern portion of the park’s parking lot on the west side Palmerston Street South will be utilized as a staging area and will not be available for parking during the project period.

Park visitors are asked to use the north side of the lot, or utilize the parking lot off Russell Street South.

Project Area Map

You can review the map below for more information on the project area. The project area will be closed to the public for the duration of the project. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate residents’ patience as we continue work to improve this central park.
